Drone

I am SICK of STATS.

I am sick of sitting in this same spot (I even eat in the same spot and blog in the same spot and read in the same spot and get irritated at people watching movies nearby at the same spot, you get the idea)

I was just thinking, if there is this one day when the very day before an exam is taken away from the average general students, the failure rate will more than quadruple, mark my word.

I wasn't as knowlegable about stats yesterday as I am today.

Such is the power of fear.

My myyy

I discovered this really great place that's good and silent. Perfect for me to rot in while I read the heap of stuff thrust in my direction.
A little like "The Beach". Discovering a great place that's not crowded out. Like a library in the exam period.

Anyway this uncle approached me as I was reading the forum, trying to figure out what this girl was saying (which to tell you the truth was pretty brilliant) and he asked, "are you an NUS student?"

Ah hell. What did I do this time?

R: Errr yeaaa
Uncle: So you are an NUS student?
R: (sweating on my pants) yes yess
Uncle: Does it mean it's correct to use the term "student" for a university student like you?

* Gubrakz * Yah ilahhhh ternyata cuman mo nanya inggris toh pakkkk pakkkk. Nyetresin org for nothing aja.

R: errhh yea you can use "student"
Uncle: Is there another name for that?
R: You can use undergraduate but "student" is alright
Uncle: ahh okayy

DON'T ask a grammatical problem to an unknowing paranoid NUS undergraduate.

Memories

I found an interestng quote today.

"Memory can change the shape of a room; it can change the color of a car.

And memories can be distorted.

They're just an interpretation, they're not a record, and they're irrelevant if you have the facts."

But isn't it sad to live on facts with no room for imagination?

I used to laugh at that

In one of Crichton's books,
a psychologist was told to design a group of "ambassadors" in the event of an alien invasion. What kind of people should be chosen to represent the people of earth and to approach the aliens. What kind of people should analyse the alien minds and negotiate with them.

He said that it should be a group of 4 people. An even number of people. (a psychologist, an astro-physicist, a mathematician and a marine biologist). He said that an odd number of people would create fiction and that there's a tendency for two (an EVEN number of people) to form a group and alienate the third person.

The idea of alienation by having an odd number of people gathering together.

I used to laugh at that.

It's not so funny anymore now, you think?

Bleah

Give religion a REST already folks.

I'll have nobody forcing me to adopt a religion. And I'll as hell have nobody forcing my sister to adopt any religion. The last time some fanatic asked me to go to church, I wasn't even thinking whether to go (the answer was pretty straightforward at that time to tell you the truth), all i was thinking was if the excuse to go to the toilet was still valid since I've used it a dozen times.

Religion is a personal choice. If you can't tell me what clothes to wear and what food to eat, who are anyone to tell me what God to believe in? which church to go to? which saint I shall adopt for my name?

Religion is a personal choice. The way some people try to get you to go to church is scary, it's almost as if not going could cost you your life. The way I see it, the only way to stop people like me from thinking that religion is some sort of a cult is to LEAVE RELIGION AS A PERSONAL CHOICE. Not the choice of a fanatic to make.

SO GIVE THE DAMN THING A REST ALREADY FOLKS.

Religion is a PERSONAL choice and as THAT it shall stay.

Bloody morons
